Admission Procedures

Applicants must submit to the Les Cayes office (BP 3, Les Cayes):

  • Completed General Application Form (see link at left)
  • Non-refundable Application Fee of $20.00 US
  • Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Bacc I and II certificates, or an Official transcript from an accredited High-school or an official GED Certificate. An incomplete transcript will only be accepted if the applicant is still in High-school at the time of application; but a final, official transcript must be submitted following graduation from Lyceum or High school
  • Two Photos (Passport Size)
  • Recent medical report (within the previous three months)
  • Two letters of Recommendation on letterhead, or with official seal
  • Essay of 200-300 word in either English or French that describes the applicant’s academic and personal goals and reasons for applying to the program
  • Students who are transferring from another University must provide official transcripts

    Les cours sont dispensés en Francais et en Anglais.

    NB: Trois heures de travaux pratique par semaine et votre participation dans le service religieux a l’AUC chaque Mecredi sont obligatioire.

    TRANSFER STUDENTS: Transfer students are required either to complete the Preparatory Program or prove their English proficiency by obtaining a pre-determined score on the Michigan English Placement Test.

    Academic credits from recognized institutions may be transferred upon approval of the student’s academic department. However, at least four consecutive semesters of full-time course work must be completed in residence at AUC.

    An applicant with more than 32 semester hours of credit will be admitted as a sophomore, junior, or senior.

    Transfer students must submit: a completed application with $10.00US application fee; Official transcripts from all schools, colleges, and university previously attended. SAT or ACT scores must be submitted upon completion of the General Studies Program.

    An incomplete transcript may be accepted if the applicant is still enrolled at another institution at the time of application; however, a final transcript must be submitted as soon as course as course work at the other institution is complete. Transcripts will be evaluated and credit awarded for acceptable work by the Registrar.

    Students on academic probation at another institution may be admitted-but their academic progress will be evaluated on individual basis.

    Readmission: Students in good standing but have been absent for more than one semester (four months) will be required to reapply for admission. In addition, they must meet current catalog requirements in their chosen field of study.

    The cost of readmission is $8.00US.

    All students seeking readmission must submit official transcripts from every post-secondary institution they have attended since they were last enrolled at AUC.

    International Students: International students who plan to attend AUC must submit: a completed application form; the $10.00US application fee in U.S. currency; and complete, official transcripts, in English, from all secondary and post-secondary institutions attended.

    Application packets should be submitted to the Admission Office where additional information may be obtained on procedures and requirements for international students.

    The application packet must contain: a recent medical examination (within the past three months); results of SAT, ACT, or equivalent examination; a letter of academic recommendation; an essay in either French or English on the applicant’s scholastic goals; and fees for not less than three semesters of schooling (not less than 36 hours) in U.S. funds.

    Non-Degree Status : Upon completion of the General Studies Program, and upon completion of not more than 16 credit hours of academic work, students must declare that they are degree seeking.

    Upon completion of no more than 32 credit hours of academic work, students must declare their major field of study.

    Credits from other institutions will be evaluated, and if accepted, will be transferred to the student’s transcript prior to the granting of degree-seeking status.

    Students who intend to earn a degree at AUC are urged to register under degree-seeking status to assure proper academic advisement and course selection to avoid costly duplication of courses.

    Early Admissions and Concurrent Enrollment: Students will not be admitted to the General Studies Program prior to completion of College/lyceum with BAC GED, or I certificate.
